Markets:

S&P 500 futures moved higher Tuesday, supported by strength in Palantir and a rebound in gold and silver, following a strong start to the new trading month for U.S. equities.

Stocks finished the regular session broadly higher. The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged roughly 515 points (+1.05%), while the S&P 500 gained 0.5% and the Nasdaq Composite added nearly 0.6%. AI infrastructure names Sandisk, Western Digital, and Seagate all closed higher. Nvidia, however, slid nearly 3% after a Wall Street Journal report late last week indicated the company’s potential investment in OpenAI has stalled.

Earnings remain front and center this week, with more than 100 S&P 500 companies reporting. Alongside Alphabet, fellow “Magnificent Seven” member Amazon is set to report later this week. Investors will be watching tech results closely for continued evidence of AI-driven efficiency and profit growth.

European markets also traded higher Tuesday as global markets stabilized following a brief selloff in cryptocurrencies and precious metals.
