Markets:
S&P 500 futures fell slightly on Friday after the market surged to fresh records as investors took signs of weakening jobs and tame inflation to mean the Federal Reserve will lower interest rates next week.
The consumer price index showed a month-to-month increase of 0.4% for August, hotter than the 0.3% that economists polled by Dow Jones were expecting. However, the index’s 2.9% rise on a 12-month basis was in line with expectations.
The usually crucial inflation report was overshadowed by weekly jobless claims, which showed a surprise jump to the highest level since October 2021. Workers filing for unemployment compensation for the week ended Sept. 6 increased 27,000 to 263,000, more than the 235,000 total expected.
Adobe shares rose nearly 4% after the software company reported better-than-expected results for its fiscal third quarter.
Portfolio:
Great week. Technically, absolutely love what is building. We've been pointing o these levels and they continue to materialize and construct outstanding patterns. Next, SPY 661'ish area and higher we want. QQQ get us to 590. 600 is the next monster line and as we stated last week, year end we believe QQQ will be at 620/higher.
Wild card is the Fed. So we respect it and remain a bit patient ahead of the FOMC.
We continue – and we appreacite oks feedback – for people looking for us to call tops. We will not. I cannot be anymore clearer on that. Our goal is to not look for when a market will top – trend / price will disctate that. But this market cannot flip this year until the hudge funds make their money. It's not happened yet and cannot wait for the latest report to see what they need to chase into year end.
Ask yourself this simple question do you want to be right about a "top" or would you rather make money?
The AI/tech revolution is still early. Of course their will be bumps and periods like Feb/March of this year along the way. But the overall trend remains. Themes in this cycle are very much in play.
We enter the last trading session of the week holding setups in ONDS, TSLL, and EOSE. Be on alert today but especially ready for next week. It should be a monster one. It's Friday, so be patient.
