Markets:
Global stocks weakened on Monday, a modest reversal from the fast start in the year in the U.S. and global markets.
Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 233 points, or 0.8%, while S&P 500 futures fell 0.7%, Nasdaq Composite futures were off 0.7%.
JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, and other U.S. banks are set to kick off fourth-quarter earnings season this coming week, and a majority of S&P 500 companies will follow them over the next month.
Wall Street expects another down quarter, with S&P 500 earnings dropping 12% in the final three months of 2020 versus the same period in 2019, according to data from Bloomberg. Sales are expected to decline 6%.
